At home with a bad back has allowed me some 'residential' birding that I don't
often get...and I observed a young robin, two days in a row (assuming it was
the same bird) carefully swiping a slug in the dry dirt of the garden. Over
and over again, in what appeared to be a clear effort to remove the slime from
same....this went on for nearly five full minutes each time, afterwhich said
slug was consumed by said robin.
Anyone else observed any other birds consuming our fat garden fiends (slugs)?
