Madagascar Serpent-Eagle nest discovered
The first nest of a bird presumed extinct for 63 years was discovered in
Madagascar last November and its existence was made public Monday by a bird
conservation organization. The Madagascar Serpent-Eagle was first sighted
on Nov. 2, 1993, on the edge of some of Madagascar's last remaining rain
forest by Peregrine Fund biologists Russell Thorstrom, Victor Baba and
Barthelemy Damary.
