Birders,
On July 30th we did our twice weekly check of the shorebirds on the
Umatilla NWR
Patterson unit in southern Benton County WA.

SEMIPALMATED PLOVERS have increased to an impressive 5.
SEMIPALMATED SANDPIPERS included two adults & probably 1 juvenile.
RED-NECKED PHALAROPE have arrived in force with over 20.
EARED GREBE, one new arrival in alternate/ breeding plumage.
LONG-BILLED DOWITCHERS numbers have increased to 12.
CROWS are now flocking together with over 300 noted.
Only 96 degrees F!
