Sightings for Friday, July 31

The EMPEROR GOOSE was seen again today at Porteau Cove Park north on
Horseshoe Bay on Highway 99. The bird was with a small flock of Canada
Geese. A HEERMANN'S GULL was also seen.

At Iona, 55 Juvenile SEMIPALMATED SANDPIPERS, 5 LESSER YELLOWLEGS and 1
GREATER YELLOWLEGS as well as BAIRD'S, PECTORAL and WESTERN SANDPIPERS were
on the Inner ponds. An OSPREY was at the Tip of the South Jetty. A BRANT,
4 BLACK OYSTERCATCHERS and a WHIMBREL were on the Tsawwassen Jetty.

In a late report for Thursday, an Immature FRANKLIN'S GULL has been at
Spanish Bank for most of the week.

Sightings for Thursday, July 30

Iona had a RING-NECKED DUCK on the outer pond, a BANK SWALLOW, a juvenile
LESSER YELLOWLEGS, and 28 juvenile SEMIPALMATED SANDPIPERS on the inner
ponds. An OSPREY was seen near the Arthur Laing Bridge.

A BRANT and eight BLACK OYSTERCATCHERS were on the Tsawwassen Jetty. A
GREEN HERON was seen on the Morgan Creek Golf Course in S Surrey. A RUDDY
TURNSTONE was East of the Marina breakwater at Point Roberts.

In late reports for Wednesday, a BANK SWALLOW was over the ponds at Iona.
2 AMERICAN KESTRALS and 2 PEREGRINE FALCONS were seen form the Iona South
Jetty and 2 HEERMANN'S GULLS were at the tip of the jetty. Two RED-NECKED
PHALAROPES were at Beach Grove in Tsawwassen.

Sightings for Wednesday, July 29

In a late reports for Tuesday, an immature LAUGHING GULL was seen with
RING-BILLED GULLS on the mudflats south of the Iona south jetty. The bird
flew off towards the south.

Five BLACK OYSTERCATCHERS and a BRANT were seen form the Tsawwassen Jetty.
A COMMON NIGHTHAWK and 3 BLACK SWIFTS were at the N Vancouver Cemetery.

Sightings for Tuesday, July 28

Blackie Spit had a LONG-BILLED CURLEW and two PURPLE MARTINS. Two
RED-NECKED PHALAROPES were at Beach Grove lagoon at the foot of 12th in
Tsawwassen. An OSPREY was seen at Village Park in Langley.

Iona had a GREEN HERON over the outflow pond and 2 HEERMANN'S GULLS on the
Jetty. An AMERICAN KESTRAL was seen near Shannon Road on Sea Island.

In late reports, a female Oldsquaw was seen from the Iona Jetty on Monday
and a Merlin was seen from the Foreshore at the south foot of Dunbar on
Saturday.
