Good Morning Tweets!

This morning I was treated to a completely silent Scrub Jay vs. Stellers
Jay battle over the too-small feeder I'd hung in the tree out back. Too
small for jay size, that is (my targets were Chickadees).

What made this altercation special was the appearance of a motley looking
Acorn Woodpecker who came down to scope out all the action. It was hopping
back and forth through the tree trying to stay out of the way of the jays.
Didn't see it visit the feeder, though, although my mother has a pair of
Acorns in Santa Rosa who are regulars at her feeder.

I have since put out a platform feeder for the jays.

Last evening at dusk I had another very pleasant surprise in the form of an
Anna's hummer enjoying all our front porch fuscias.

I think I'm going to like living in Del Monte Forest!
