Since I live in a small valley with a fairly sharp rise in elevation, I
have both Black-capped and Mt. Chickadees. My question is...I have some MT
with white on their face, some with light gray, and two who showed up this
last week with very dark gray on their face. The guides say that gray
instead of white on the face is common in the NW. Is this area an overlap
of the two colors? Also, are the very dark gray faces a juve. coloration?
Would appreciate any info on this.

Thanks,
Joanne
