Tweets,

We've had a Rufous Hummingbird since March as well. Like Thea's it was
feeding on the current bush. It is still around focusing on the poker plant
and the red valarian and totally ignores the feeder. The gardening staff at
the zoo report an abundance of hummers around the conservation garden next
to he butterfly exhibit.

The big attraction in our backyard is the voracious presence of eighteen
Band-tailed Pigeons and a pair of Black-headed Grosbeaks which have been
around for a couple of weeks. On May 11 we had a pair of Evening Grosbeaks
as well. The neighborhood Hous Sparrows seem to have chased off most of the
Swallows including the pair that inhabited the carport for the past few years.
