Patty Pollari reported the following birds in her West Richland yard: a
male CALLIOPE HUMMINGBIRD and CHIPPING SPARROW on May 17, 3 PINE SISKINS
and a WILSON'S WARBLER on May 18, and from 1 to 3 BLACK-HEADED GROSBEAKS on
May 19 and 20.

Ruth Fischer observed a female BLACK-CHINNED HUMMINGBIRD at her feeder on
May 21, while Sue Dodds found a male WESTERN TANAGER in her Kennewick yard.

Dennis Rockwell reported 3 WILSON'S WARBLERS and 2 GOLDEN-CROWNED SPARROWS
in Two Rivers Park on May 23.

On May 22 I (Bob Woodley) birded in Groves Park with Craig Corder and Judy
Stevens and we found 2 WESTERN WOOD-PEWEES, an EASTERN KINGBIRD, a WARBLING
VIREO and a WILSON'S WARBLER. While a little later I saw 2 VAUX'S SWIFTS
over my yard.

On May 24, Ruth Fischer and I birded Bateman Island and saw 14 WESTERN
GREBES on the adjacent delta, 3 SPOTTED SANDPIPERS, WESTERN WOOD-PEWEE,
EASTERN KINGBIRD, WARBLING VIREO, and YELLOW and WILSON'S WARBLERS.

Also on the 24th Mary Nowakowski observed a male BLACK-HEADED GROSBEAK at
her Richland feeder.

The nature trail in Two Rivers Park yielded a female YELLOW WARBLER and a
male MACGILLIVRAY'S WARBLER to Dennis Rockwell on May 27. While Groves
Park provided me (BW) with a WILLOW FLYCATCHER, WARBLING VIREO, and
WILSON'S WARBLER that same day.

Also on May 27, I (BW) had a male RUFOUS and a male CALLIOPE HUMMINGBIRD at
my feeder.

Mike and Mary Lilga reported COMMON NIGHTHAWKS over North Richland on May 29.

Lastly, today I (BW) found a male TOWNSEND'S WARBLER at the Yakima Delta
and a WILSON'S WARBLER in Groves Park. Also a male DOWNY WOODPECKER has
been signaling his availability by hammering on various power poles in my
neighborhood at least since May 8.
