Just returned from a wonderful day trip up (and down) Hwy 410 to Naches,
across Wenas Rd. to Ellensburg and home via I-90.

Just North of Naches, on N. Wenas Road, we got a brief but good look at
what we believed to be two Mountain Quail as they crossed the road.
This was a really big deal as, believe it or not, Mountain Quail and I
have never managed to be in the same place at the same time! Later on,
reading through my Peterson's, the map doesn't show this area as being
one where Mountain Quail would be found.

Were these merely maurading California Quail running really, really fast
into a strong head wind? Or do Mountain Quail hang out in that area?
Any ideas?
