I'm sending this over tweeters as I don't have your e-mail address.
For the next time you're up this way looking for boblinks, I found this
message when I was clearing stuff from my delete box. This message was from
Jane Westervelt on June 1st.
Steve and I were in the Cd'A area this weekend and decided to make a
side trip to look for Bobolinks. This time we actually managed to
find some. Since they spent most of the time in the grass, it was
difficult to tell how many were actually there, but it looked like
there were at least 5 pairs in one field. To find the field, take
I90 east of Cd'A to the junction with SR 3 (?, the road to St.
Maries). Turn left (north) at the stop sign onto Canyon Rd. Follow
Canyon to River Rd (south). River Rd. goes over the freeway and up a
hill, the field is at the top of the hill on the east side of the
road (it's the only field without cows).
We also got a great look at an Eastern Kingbird at this spot, it was
patient enough to wait until I got my camera out and focused before
flying. There might be one good picture.
On the way home, I saw 1 Snipe sitting on a fence post a bit south of
Emida in Benewah Co.
