I have added a page to my photos in the Bird Gallery on the WOS web page.
(http://weber.u.washington.edu/~dvictor/imagees.html/) This page
includes three pictures showing white patches in the wings of Heermann's
Gulls. One shot shows a gull with a simple patch in the wings while the
other two pictures show variations on "the patch". These were all shot
off Monterey from various boats.

Many thanks to Dan Victor for dealing with the images that I sent him.

It is almost trite to say but I am still impressed with the technology. I
got the idea on Friday to put the images on the web, I found the slides
Saturday(!), scanned (Poloroid Film scanner) them Saturday, formatted
them in Photoshop Saturday night, downloaded them on Sunday, and
electronically mailed them Monday and they are available to everyone
Monday afternoon.

I will be interested in any comments on the birds.
