I am going to be in Northern California from June 20th-27th,
specifically in the Sonoma wine country. We will be staying the majority
of the time in Healdsburg with short stops in Mendicino and San
Francisco. I have birded the San Francisco NWR before but never spent
much time in the wine country. I bought the book "A Birder's Guide to
Northern California" which lists a few places but has no occurrence bar
charts or listings of birds seen by season (that's what you get for
buying mail-order). I would appreciate any suggestions as to good
birding spots for this time of year or web sites that might have
checklists for this area. Thanks in advance.
