OBOL:

Oregon Field Ornithologists will hold our 19th ANNUAL MEETING, June 26-28
in Ontario, OR, as a joint meeting with the Southwestern Idaho Birders
Association (Nampa, ID) and the Golden Eagle Audubon Society (Boise, ID).
Plan to join us at the Four Rivers Cultural Center, 676 SW 5th Ave.,
Ontario, OR, for great field trips, the annual meeting, a Saturday evening
Banquet and informative speakers.

Registration begins at 5:00 Friday evening followed by an evening program
at 8:15. Our featured speaker on Friday is Barry Nord, Range Management
Specialist from the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service. Barry
works with private landowners, restoring riparian areas on private range
lands. He will talk about Watershed Restoration.

On Saturday evening we welcome Dr. Leon Powers, Professor of Biology,
Northwest Nazarene College, Nampa, ID, who will speak about his research on
Great Gray and Flamulated Owls.

Field trips will include a search for the Blue Grosbeaks (if they return to
their nesting site near Brogan, OR). Trips will also go to Deer Flat NWR,
Snake River raptor areas, the lower Owyhee River valley, Succor Creek State
Park and Bully Creek Reservoir.

In addition to the Blue Grosbeaks we will be looking for Clark's Grebe,
White Pelican, Ferruginous Hawk, American Avocet, Black-necked Stilt.
Long-billed Curlew, Burrowing Owl, Black-chinned and Broad-tailed
hummingbirds,
White-throated Swift, Gray Catbird, Grasshopper Sparrow, Great-tailed
Grackle and Lesser Goldfinch.

Costs: Meeting registration is $15/individuals ($18 for non members),
$20/family for members, $7 for students and a special one day registration
of $8.
Lodging is available at the Treasure Valley Community College dorms at
$10/night.
Meals are: Breakfast - $6, Box lunch - $7 and the banquet $15 (vegetarian
or chicken) or $17 (top sirloin).
