>> Well--we went back to Northrup Canyon this morning and this evening and
still couldn't find the bird. One BLACK-HEADED GROSBEAK responded to the
tape and that was it.

We did see the LONG-EARED OWL again this evening. <<

I'll be heading out to Eastern Washington next week, and will be
birding Northrup Canyon.

Where should I look for the Long-eared Owl? Down the trail, or up above?
Does he favor a certain tree, or group of trees. Can he be found and
observed without bothering him?

All day, or dawn or dusk?

Also hoping for three cool woodpeckers at Wenas.

Thanks,
