My co-worker is pretty good at identifying birds, at least the common
ones. Unless a young woodpecker old enough to fly is close to the size
and coloration of a nuthatch, I doubt it. The same thought had crossed
my mind earlier but I ruled it out, because she was very sure of what
she saw.
