Hello, this is Portland Audubon Society's Rare Bird Report. This
recording was made Thursday June 11. If you have anything to add call
Harry Nehls at 233-3976.

On June 6 a singing BELL'S VIREO was found in the woods at Fields. It
remained through the day but could not be found the next day. This would
be the second state record.

At Malheur NWR the EASTERN PHOEBE at Buena Vista and the very cooperative
YELLOW-BILLED LOON north of the P Ranch were seen over the weekend and
may still be around.

The Yaquina Bay ARCTIC LOON is still being seen but it is a bit elusive
and moved around the bay quite a bit.

Single CLAY-COLORED SPARROWS were seen near Brookings June 6; along the
Nature Trail at Yaquina Bay June 6; and near Cave Junction June 8.

An EASTERN KINGBIRD was at Cape Blanco June 3. A group of 24 BLUE-WINGED
TEAL was at New River June 8. A SCRUB-JAY was at Bandon June 3. A
SANDHILL CRANE was near Bandon June 8. An EASTERN KINGBIRD was at Pony
Slough, and a MOCKINGBIRD was on the North Spit of Coos Bay June 6.

Two PARASITIC JAEGERS were at the South Jetty of the Columbia River and a
DUSKY FLYCATCHER was at Hammond June 7. Many MURRES were flying northward
past the mouth of the river that day.

RED-EYED VIREOS returned to Ridgefield NWR and the mouth of the Sandy
River during the week. A SANDHILL CRANE flew past Kelly Point Park in
North Portland June 10. It was being chased by several CASPIAN TERNS. An
EASTERN KINGBIRD was building a nest near the mouth of the Sandy River
June 7. An ASH-THROATED FLYCATCHER was at Detroit Flats in the Cascades
east of Salem June 9.

A possible adult WESTERN GULL was at Klamath Falls June 8.

On June 4 a LEAST FLYCATCHER was at Roaring Springs Ranch, and a
BLACK-AND-WHITE WARBLER and a MOCKINGBIRD were at Cottonwood Creek, south
of Fields. A BAND-TAILED PIGEON was at Denio, Nevada that day.

A female ROSE-BREASTED GROSBEAK was at Malheur NWR Headquarters June 2 to
June 5. A MAGNOLIA WARBLER was there June 3; a TENNESSEE WARBLER was
there June 6; and a LEAST FLYCATCHER was there June 7.

This RBA will not be updated the next two weeks.

Thats it for this week.
