For the past few days, a Stilt Sandpiper in near breeding plumage has
been hanging with an injured Greater Yellowlegs near the north end of the
Grand Canal in Ocean Shores, across J.K. Lewis St. from the fire station.

Birders wishing to look for it should go 1 block south from the 4-way stop
by Macdonald's, turn left past the communication towers, and look at the
canal immediately on the right. This is a heavily golfed and otherwise
disturbed area and the birds are not always there; late afternoon has
been most productive. My wife and I first found it there on 6/6, and it
was there at 5 pm today.
