Hi, Tweeters

This morning, 14 June 98, at appx 7:30 am I saw a pair of White Tailed Kites
at Glacial Heritage, Thurston County. These are undoubtedly the same birds
Russ Rogers saw a few weeks ago. Watched them for quite a while. It was lousy
flying weather, so they pretty much roosted at the tops of the firs.
Also saw many Common Yellow throats. Willow (?) Flycatchers in the trees along
the rail line, heard Pewee's and Swainson's Thrushes in the gravel pit
alongside the RailTrail (both it and the pit are returning to nature at a
rapid rate), two pairs of Harriers and a smallish Red Tailed Hawk. There's
Savannah sparrows everywhere, as well as Meadowlarks. Heard a California
Quail, too, though they've pretty much been chased out by the pheasants.
