Gary Kuiper, Sandy and I went for a ride towards Hartline and then to
Northrup lake, (access by written permission only) and saw SAGE
SPARROWS, GRASSHOPPER SPARROWS, (lifers). We recorded and compared to
Peterson's CD. We also saw VESPER SPARROWS and SAGE THRASHERS.

In a wet draw there were Aspen? and a snag full of holes about 2 1/2" in
dia. the only hole that had activity had whitewash down the face of the
snag and I got photos of two chicks peeking out. They were dark grey and
the beaks were dark with a thick yellow line between the upper and lower
mandible. All they would show was their head and upper breast. I would
guess the head was about the size and shape of a Brown-headed Cowbird.
Any ideas? I'll have to wait for the pictures.
