Hi Tweeters!

It was a very gray and foggy day on Mt Rainier today. Didn't see much,
but the quality made up for the lack of quantity.

Here's what I saw...
Many dumpster dive bombing CLARK'S NUTCRACKERS. Those birds are as bold
as their crow cousins!

Several GRAY JAYS, also into garbage picking. These gray jays had dark
capped heads.

Swallows - type unknown....maybe CLIFF SWALLOWS?

STELLARS JAY. I think it was. It was the right size and had a crest,
but too far away to positivly id.

CRITTERS SEEN.

A HORAY MARMOT! That thing was like a giant guinea pig with a tail! We
heard it whistling and thought somebody was blowing a dog whistle or
something. We got close to it and it dove back into it's snow hole, and
once we passed it crawled back out and watched us. I've heard they can
get quite tame and rob campsites of food and scraps!

A FOX with prey in it's mouth. The fox looked quite gray, but was moving
very fast, so I couldn't really id it very well. (I've even seen a fox
running up Delridge Way in West Seattle! Anybody know what kind that
could have been?)
