Greetings,
What? What are you going to do? I awoke this morning to find
the Chickadees waiting as usual, for their morning pine nuts.
Typically, they can never wait for my hand to reach the feeder with the
nuts, often perching on my hand to get the first nut. But the pesky
Starlings were about... (I have been "trying" to discourage these very
aggressive birds) The Starlings swoop in ... the Chickadees scatter (all
but one) ... the commotion scatters allll the birds about ... except for
a juvenile Starlings. seeing my hand "laden" with pine nuts. lands on
the feeder next to my outreached hand, looks at me: "Well!???"
The moment has me frozen, I can do nothing... The young Starling helps
himself to some pine nuts from my hand. The Chickadee, looking on
swoops to the feeder, sending the young Starling off, finally getting a
morning pine nut.
Question:
Is this indicative of my abilities to be a "BIG MEANY" to Starlings?:-)
