Greetings,

A non-birding friend and I will be roaming around the northwest for about
three weeks this summer. We will camp as much as possible.

A birding friend will join us from July 18 - July 25. She is flying in
and out of Seattle. She has chronic fatigue syndrome and is only able to
bird in the mornings. She fades after about 1pm. She can sometimes also
bird an hour or two in the evening.

I have books on Ocean Shores, birding in Washington state, and birding in
the San Juan Islands and realize that we will not be there at the best
time for birding. Still, my friend has never been in the west so the
native birds will be new for her. I was in Bellingham for a week about
10 years ago and have seen some of the birds in the area.

I would like to cover a variety of habitats to maximize our species
possibilities. Ideally, I'd like to rent a cabin or inexpensive motel and
bird out of one or two locations rather than moving each night.

She'd like a pelagic trip; I get very seasick even with medication. I'm
game for a half day trip.

I know that this is a very broad request, but any suggestions you could
make, especially about a home base, would be greatly appreciated. Please
respond to rseidler at centenary.edu

Thanks,
