Early this afternoon my wife called me and asked if I could come home
quickly. She said there was a funny sound in our van that she wanted me to
check out and was afraid it would not last long.

When I got home there seemed to be baby birds chirping in the liner of the
roof of our van. We searched to find how and where they could have gotten
there. I finally realized that the chirping was coming from a bird house my
wife had just bought at a yard sale. I took the lid off the house and sure
enough there were four baby birds, probably House Sparrows, in the bird house.

My wife took the house back to the yard sale immediately. The person having
the sale checked the houses he had on a table in his driveway and one other
box had a nest with baby birds in it.

The houses were returned to their original places in the yard and hopefully
the appropriate parents will return to the boxes. if not, there will still
be plenty of House Sparrows in Yakima.
