Hello,

I was out walking along the Green River Trail in Kent, adjacent to the
"Lakes" subdivision. It was around 8:30 in the evening. Some medium
sized birds came swooping out of the trees on the west side of the river.
They were white on the underside, wings very sharply angled. They were
smaller than crows and bigger than robins. Their calls were thin and
wimppy versions of hawk cries.
They were flying very fast and swooping a bit like swallows. Any idea
what they were?

Oh, "the pest is yet to come"! This is supposed to be a bad year for
mosquitos, fleas and yellow-jackets! Time to stock up on insect
repellent! I got hit by some overly zealous mosquitos Saturday evening!

Here is a trick I learned while living in the dry San Joaquin Valley of
California. When I knew I'd be trompping through dry grasses, I'd fasten
FLEA COLLARS around my ankles as a way to keep those things off me. It
worked.

Happy scratching, I mean birding!
