Friday the 19th went to the Davenport cemetery and saw the LEAST
FLYCATCHER. (lifer) Comfirmed with tape recording and photos.

We came home and switched rigs and stopped at the Coulee City sewage
treatment ponds. Nothing there but a couple RING BILL GULLS and some
MALLARDS. Next we went to the Sun lakes state park (soon to be renamed
Dry falls state park) and stayed over nite in the Van. Saw 19 species
including a BREWER'S SPARROW, BLUE-WINGED TEAL and two BLACK-CROWNED
NIGHT HERONS within the park area.

Saturday the 20th headed for Orondo (west of Waterville.) 2 miles from
Sun lakes state park we saw a CHUKAR. East of waterville there was a
very young Coyote staggering along the road. We stopped and threw it a
piece of chicken, but it staggered off into the wheat fields. It didn't
look like it would last the day. :-(

One mile East of Waterville in some thick brush along side the road we
heard what sounded like four or five different birds in the same place.
After about 25 minutes we finally figured out that it was one bird. A
YELLOW-BREASTED CHAT.(lifer) There was also a WILLOW FLYCATCHER there,
and a very bold HOUSE WREN. It came out and perched on a twig two feet
from Sandy. I had to back up to get a picture of it.

About five miles west of Waterville we stopped at a draw that had fir
and pine trees in it and spotted a Honey-bee hive in a large pine snag.
We also saw a RED-BREASTED NUTHATCH.

Our next stop was at the Mansfield cementery. There was one WILLOW
FLYCATCHER. Behind the cementery was a small garbage dump and some brush
and a few trees. There was a ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLER sneaking around in
the bushes.

At DeLorme P85 B4 there is a SWAINSON'S HAWK nest. We saw one adult and
one immature. Got good pictures of the immature.

At Leahy junction there were 6 COMMON NIGHTKHAWKS. Got photos of them
from 8 feet.

On the McCabe road there is a adult and a baby AVOCET and four WILSON'S
PHALAROPES.

Sunday and Monday, had to do catch-up yard work. :-((

Total species was 52
