To judge from the weather, you might have guessed March or April. But the
birds were June.

For the third straight Thursday, there were BLACK SWIFTs at the lake
platform.

We also found a Red-eyed Vireo nest, the first confirmed nesting of REVI at
Marymoor, although we were sure they were breeding there.

Lots of good sightings of Swainson's Thrush, Willow Flycatcher, and
Black-headed Grosbeak.

And the young Red-tailed Hawk, from the nest just across West Lake Sammamish
Parkway was loudly screaming from the top of a tree. There appeared to be a
carcass of something sitting next to the youngster. My translation might be
a bit off, but it seemed to be saying "I'm still hungry, and I won't eat the
crusts"...
