Hi Tweets,

I (Sandy) "twitched" Wednesday and we made a trip to Spokane for
shopping
and of course birding.

We started at Riverside State Park to look for the BLACK-BACKED
WOODPECKER.(lifer) We found one male and took some photos.

We took care of our business (shopping) and went out to the Centenial
Trail, mile marker 5 to see the CLAY-COLORED SPARROW (lifer). We did get
a brief look at it, but it was windy and raining. We also watched an
OSPREY flying over the river with a good size fish. While on the trail
we saw a GRAY CAT BIRD. Not unusual for the area, but a lifer for us.

The SHORT-EARRED OWLS were by the road west of Wilbur. Our travel thru
that area is usually early in the morning and late in the evening, so
the owls are out hunting.
