Today, June 27th, we found a male CHESTNUT-SIDED WARBLER (breeding =
plumaged)
in Benton County Washington. It was/is nw of Benton City at the end of =
Sharp Road.=20
DeLorme p 38 B3. We found it about 11:30 am & appreciated it for over =
30 minutes=20
and then added it to our county year list! It was found high in a =
popular tree, but finally =20
dropped down to some smaller locust trees. It was loosely associated =
with a =20
Golden-crowned Kinglet, which is rarely/(never?) found in June. The =
warbler was=20
silent. We are: Judy Stevens, Nancy LaFramboise, Phil Bartley & Craig =
Corder.=20
=20
Just NE on Case Road we also saw a FERRUGINOUS HAWK & several
BREWER'S SPARROWS. =20

Just SW of Benton City, on McBee Road, there were over a dozen =
GRASSHOPPER
SPARROWS still singing. LARK SPARROWS are there too. Farther south=20
we found a pair of GRAY PARTRIDGE
with young on County Well Road near the top of Weber Canyon.
=20
Good Birding,
Craig=20
