I got a medium sized pre-planted hanging fucsia for next to my front door.
Within 3 days I discovered a dark-eyed junco nesting in it. The eggs are
all white with dark brown spots. Now there are 3 babies. Both parents
appear to be tending the nest. She spends most of her time brooding and he
goes out for food. At this stage they are still blind, but have begun to
get fuzzy tufts on their heads and rears. Really cute. They are also
nearly silent. I rarely hear them peeping.
Brown creeper is also nesting in one of the big conifers as I see them
more frequently now.
