Hello, Tweets

Here is a first-of-the-year report for the Olympic Vulture Study. It
includes January and February turkey vulture sightings for the Pacific
Northwest (Ore/Wash/BC).

15 January - near Gibsons, British Columbia: 1 soaring

06 February - Finley NWR, Oregon: 1 bird

08 February - north of Lebanon, Oregon: 1 bird

11 February - Chehalis, Washington: 1 bird

17 February - Orcas Island: 1 bird

Also, comments were received regarding the possibility of turkey vultures
overwintering on Vancouver Island, Orcas Island, and near Gig Harbor.

Reports of returning (or overwintering) turkey vultures are much needed.
When looking for sage sparrows and related ground-type small birds, take a
moment to look up and scan for possible vultures and other good high stuff!

For the most value, sightings should include date, location, number of
birds seen, weather, and anything else of interest.

Thanks.
