Well Tweets,

Another beautiful day in the South Sound!! Overcast & rainy all day, but it
is the first of March and I was on my next to the last feeder watch weekend of
the year. The weather sure didn't bother the birds. I had apretty good day
just looking out my windows and saw some "Spring birds". I had my first
CHESTNUT-BACKED CHICKADEES in some time and also had a male RED-WINGED
BLACKBIRDat my feeders. The pair of MALLARDS that hang around the pond next
door also decided that today was a good day to get some of the corn in the
ground feeder.

I also had my first SPOTTED TOWHEE of the year. All told I had 11 species
in my yard and saw a couple more in front of the house.

In the yard:

MOURNING DOVE 12
CROW 1
SONG SPARROW 2
DARK-EYED JUNCO ~25
HOUSE FINCH 6
PINE SISKIN 4
CHESTNUT-BACKED CHICKADEE 2
HOUSE SPARROW 1
SPOTTED TOWHEE 1
RED-WINGED BLACKBIRD 1
MALLARD 2

Out front

ROBIN
STARLING
FLICKER

Not too bad for a rainy day.
