Have you considered a Rock Wren? That's what I thought of
when I read your description of the song.

Hello Tweeters,
I noticed the meadowlarks are singing in Nespelem. I have
another early
singer right here in my neighborhood (does early singing
mean early
nesting?) that has had me stumped for two or three springs.
It is a
low skulker in sage/bitterbush; I've always assumed a
sparrow. It
started singing the second week in February. The song is a
high-pitched
but full and ringing, repetitive and simple:
cheewa-cheewa-cheewa-cheewa... I've gone out, not as
diligently as I
should obviously, to find the guy, but never can catch a
glimpse. Any
ideas?
