Today, as I was working in my office, a male Rufous Hummingbird flew up to
the window, about two feet from my face, and hovered where I had a window
feeder last year. He looked distressed and betrayed.<G>

Boy, did I hustle. I got some juice out for him in about 10 minutes, but
he hasn't returned yet, an hour later -- probably busy catching bugs to
hold him over.

He was here March 15 last year, and March 13 in 1996. (El Nino strikes
again. <G>)
