Tweets,

This AM I got a call from Charles Evans that a friend in the U District had
just seen a WESTERN TANAGER at his feeders. I hustled over and sure enough,
a bright female hanging out with the house sparrows. Nice bright wingbars
(yellowish above, white below); typical tanager bill, quite yellow; gray
back saddle & bright yellow undertail coverts contrasting with yellowish
underparts. I suspect it may have been about the area all winter rather than
a migrant arriving six-seven weeks early, but who knows.

Then while walking the dog on the Snoqualmie Valley trail north of
Stillwater out popped a WILSON'S WARBLER, a bright male with shiny black
cap, from a patch of blackberries. It dropped out of sight never to be seen
again. Again, maybe it's been here all winter? (Park at the lot just north
of Fay Rd. & across the highway, climb to the trail, then down the other
side toward the field; it was in the brambles on the right.)
