Nope, the resident downtown Tacoma peregrines haven't nested
yet. But they sure have seen a lot of visitors recently.

On my daily peregrine-checking rounds this morning, I found
two immature visitors--an immature female on the Sheraton Hotel
and a somewhat smaller immature peregrine (a female, not a male,
I think) on the east end of the 11th Street Bridge.

In a few minutes, the resident adult male showed up, and all
three got caught up in an aerial tussle. While the male retired
to a perch on the bridge, the other two falcons chased each other
off into the distance. Five minutes later, one of them returned
and rested on a downtown building.

During all this fuss and feathers, I did not see the resident
adult female this morning. Just last week, she chased off
yet another immature female who had presumed to hang around.
I'll look for her later day on one of my work breaks.

This is the third consecutive year that the year-round resident
male has had a steady partner. Maybe this year they'll find
a suitable nesting site, though they don't seem real fond
of the two available boxes.
