Hello Tweeters:

Lost the data on my disk drive a few weeks ago, so I lost the email address of
the individual who is tracking Kingfishers, but know that he reads Tweeters,
so....

About 11:00 am this morning (Wednesday, 3/11) saw a Belted Kingfisher at the
intersection of the Riverbend Golf Course foot bridge and the Green River in
Kent. Got just a brief side view, but mostly a top view, as the bird flew
under the bridge and just above the water for several yards. Am tentatively
identifying it as a male as I could not see any portion of a rust colored band
from the side view.

Also, along the Green River Trail which borders the golf course, about 500
yards North of where I sighted the Kingfisher, there was a Bald Eagle perched
in the tallest tree on the course on the West side of the river. This tree is
in the center of that portion of the golf course, and overlooks several ponds
that have numerous waterfowl on and around them. The Eagle remained perched
at the same location for the 10 to 15 minutes it took me to walk that portion
of the trail.

Lastly, there were 3 Cormorants, which I would identify as Pelagic, sitting
on the cable/pipeline that spans the Green River at James Street and Russell
Road in Kent. This seems to be a favorite Cormorant spot as they are in the
middle of the river at a height of about 20 feet to watch for fish. This is
the first time this Winter I have seen more than 1 at this location. Have
seen as many as 6 or 7 there during the Summer.
