There used to be a connection, Michael. My Mom and Dad had an addiction
to White Spot restaurants (since passed genetically to me) during the '60s
and we kids were dragged to every one of the Vancouver WS's. The ones
near Fraser and Marine Drive, and the one on S. Granville (both since gone)
*always* had two-three pairs of Crested Mynas working the scraps by the
cars. Actually, come to think of it, this may have been one of the species
that got me interested in birds in the first place. It was far from urban myth
at
that time, but nowadays with so few left, it may seem so.
