Hi Tweets,

Jack Bowling quotes, re Crested Myna Acridotheres cristatellus:

>** Micahel Price writes -
><snip>
>> NOTE: --the connection to fast-food outlets and dumpsters is one of those
>> local myths...<snip>

then writes:

>There used to be a connection, Michael. My Mom and Dad had an addiction
>to White Spot restaurants (since passed genetically to me) during the '60s
>and we kids were dragged to every one of the Vancouver WS's. The ones
>near Fraser and Marine Drive, and the one on S. Granville (both since gone)

with their wonderful(?) hokey murals, I miss 'em (sniff)--

>that time, but nowadays with so few left, it may seem so.

I stand by my words: the White Spot founder would have been appalled, Jack,
simply appalled that you called his establishments 'fast-food'. They were,
even the drive-in parts, *restaurants with prompt service*. Besides, before
my time here.

Seriously, Jack's right and I was wrong, being dazzled by present behavior
and generalising it into a time before European Starlings Sturna vulgaris
squeezed 'em out of this niche. Sorry, folks. Hmm, crow's not bad, with
enough vinegar--
