A friend, who built a large brook and pond in their back yard, has a problem
and has asked me for help. I in turn, would like to ask my Tweeters friends
for their advice. The water develops green algae and they are wondering if it
would be acceptable to place chlorine tablets in the water. Could the
chlorine harm the birds, or the plants (water lillies)? Any other ideas,
besides chlorine, that could eliminate the algae?
The brook is 30' long with a 4' drop and the pond at the bottom is 10' by 4'
, 2' to 4' deep. I would guess the recirculation flow to be at least a wide
open hose. Thanks in advance for your help.
