Greetings Tweets

I will be sailing to Cuba in May and would like any tips on birding the
Island. I will be there for about two weeks and should have the
opportunity to go inland. I have Bond's West Indies guide and am curious
if anyone can suggest additional reading, guides, destinations, web sites,
advice, etc., so as to be "properly" outfitted before arrival. This may be
the only opportunity I have. Thanks up-front!

Oh by the way, I understand that there was a thread at one time about river
otters and their supposed appetite for seabirds. I live on a boat in
Olympia and have seen first-hand otters taking goldeneyes. They haul out
and rip them to shreds. Wonderfully graphic. I was walking with my dog on
the dock just three weeks ago when we came upon one eating a goldeneye. It
hunched-up, hissed, and took the bird and dove. Nothing left but blood and
feathers. Superb!
