March 20, 1998, Friday, 9:38 a.m. The following report was received on
March 17 from Patrick Sullivan, phone (253) 564-7419. Sitings for March
10 at Budd Inlet in Olympia: The YELLOW-BILLED LOON was noted again
today at the south end of Budd Inlet. Other birds included one EARED
GREBE and one OLDSQUAW. Sitings for Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge
on the 10th included 35+ TREE SWALLOWS, one AMERICAN BITTERN, one
SPOTTED SANDPIPER, one HARLAN'S RED-TAILED HAWK, one NORTHERN SHRIKE, 5
WESTERN MEADOWLARKS, 580+ DUNLIN and 6 WESTERN GULLS. Sitings for March
17 at Nisqually: 2 TURKEY VULTURES, one VIOLET-GREEN SWALLOW, one CLIFF
SWALLOW, 18 LONG-BILLED DOWITCHERS, 2 GREATER YELLOWLEGS, 3 RUFOUS
HUMMINGBIRDS, a HUTTON'S VIREO, a RED-BREASTED SAPSUCKER, 2 WESTERN
GULLS, one RED-THROATED LOON, a EURASIAN WIGEON and a CANVASBACK. Thank

March 20, 1998, Friday, 7:13 a.m. Hi, Tom Aversa, 782-7342. Just want
to report that the VESPER and HARRIS' SPARROWS are still up at Eide Road
in Stanwood. Also an immature female SNOWY OWL on the West 90 since
yesterday.
