Subject: 1998 Spring raptor migration study at Cape Flattery

Hi, Tweeters

The spring Cape Flattery raptor migration study has begun, with two seasoned
observers working on-site under a research agreement between the Makah
Nation and HawkWatch Int'l. The observations will continue through April.

We will post results to the Tweeters mail-list as we can, and questions
about the study can be addressed to us (email:clark at olympus.net or fax:
360-683-1413) or to Steve Hoffman, HWI (email: hawkwatch at vii.com or tel:
801-524-8511).

A report, "Spring Raptor Migration Studies at Cape Flattery, Washington in
1990-1997", was distributed in February by us to a sizable number of
participants and supporters.

As in the past, reports of raptor sightings in western WA and OR would be
appreciated, as we attempt to understand the spring flyways of these
raptors. We monitor Tweeters, especially for postings with "hawk" or
"raptor" subject headings, and would welcome private email messages.

Thanks, from Virginia and Welden Clark
