Hi Martin: Thanks for the comments. We saw only one Pied-billed Grebe at
Aimakapa and were told by several local birders that it was the only one
left. However, we later heard from Tony McCaferty, who is performing a
longitudinal study, that four of the Grebes remain in the area of the
Pond. This still represents a population crash from the 17+ birds that
were present five years ago, but hopefully the numbers may turn around.
