Tweets - don't know if this came up on the list or not - have any
of you ever witnessed swallows eating plant material? A bunch
of local birders, including me, noticed Tree Swallows flitting about
among the sweet gale that grew around the edges of a lake we
were canoeing on. It looked like they were feeding on it. This was
about mid-May, several years ago. Mosquitoes weren't out yet,
which made us feel as if the insect supply were low, but maybe
they were finding some kind of insect on the plants.
