Speaking of Canada Geese on high nests...

I was conducting raptor surveys in Hells Canyon a few years back and found a
Canada Goose sitting on an old Golden Eagle nest in the middle of a vertical
rock face above Brownlee Reservoir. Not only was the goose in such a
surprising spot, but there were also a pair of Common Ravens and a pair of
Prairie Falcons nesting on the same face! Each had nests less than 50m away
from the goose, one on either side! I got a good laugh out of the whole
scenerio--the goose was sitting so deep in that GOEA nest, it looked as if
it was trying to keep a low profile with it's very active and vocal
neighbors! : )
