I've been going to obscure parts of E. Oregon for a couple of years now.
Fun and it's vastly improved my birding and observation skills.
People skills too in some of the more remote "where you from, boy?"
areas where they don't take kindly to government types or developers.
They think birdwatchers are amusing, but harmless for the most part.
