..........Hiked all around Lewisville County Park(just north of
BattleGround, Wash.) Sunday. Weather was absolutely gorgeous. It was
quite nice and peaceful in the park till more people came later in the
afternoon.
..........Since the area is heavily wooded, one looks 'up' rather than '
down' for birds!!!!!!!! Saw some sparrow-like birds high up(could'nt
tell what they were 'cause none of them would stay put long enough to
note identifying markings.) Saw one Chestnut-backed Chickadee(it too
flew away just after I trained the binoculars on it......but I saw
enough of the markings on it to be 98.5% sure......not 'sure enough'
however for me to put in on a 'life list.') I didn't see any of its
'lower elevation' cousin the Black-capped Chickadee though.
...........Saw a couple of Ravens, along with more common Robins, Crows,
etc.etc. Saw plenty of Water Beetles on the pools of water though.
Have a good one!!!!!!!!!
