On Sunday morning, Martha Taylor, Cindy Sprecher and I walked around the
trails at Mcdonald Park over near Carnation, and then over at Three-Rivers
WRA. It was a great tune-up for spring birding by ear. We heard the
following warblers: Black-throated Gray, Wilson's, Yellow, Yellow-rumped,
Orange-crowned and Common Yellowthroat. Also heard lots of Pacific-slope
and Hammonds Flycatchers (no Willow Flycatchers heard), and Winter Wrens.
There are several pairs of very vocal Red-tailed Hawks nesting near the
Bridge at Mcdonald Park. Also, Northern Rough-winged Swallows nesting in
the exposed cliffs along the river. Didn't see or hear any Tanagers or
Grosbeaks...
