Hello Tweets,

Today I birded Thurston Co. with 113 species at 5 locations: Nisqually NWR,
Lacey clearcut, Black Lake Meadows, McLane Creek, and East Bay area. I
started out at Nisqually NWR at 7:30am and birded the entire loop trail to
11:00am with major highlights being: 2 AM.WHITE PELICANS(seen at 8:45 on
the NW corner pond, then flew east towards Nisqually River into Pierce Co.
at 9am, then relocated flying high over refuge at 10am, and landing on
exposed mudflats on the Nisqually Delta at 10:30am), 10 GR.W.F.GEESE, 14
B.W.TEAL, 3 WHIMBREL, 2 L.YELLOWLEGS, 1 WILSON'S PHALAROPE, 1 W.WOOD PEWEE,
6 P.MARTINS, 2 H.WRENS, 4 S.THRUSHES,and 2 B.H.GROSBEAKS. At 11:30am I
birded the Lacey clearcut, where 1 H.THRUSH and 3 M.DOVES were present.
Black Lake Meadows was quite productive during early afternoon with 3 new
species added to "our" area list including: 2(pair)of REDHEAD, 1 P.B.GREBE,
and a single H.WREN. Other notable species include: 1 GREEN HERON, 2
SOLITARY SANDPIPERS, 2 SPOTTED SANDPIPERS, 2 GR.YELLOWLEGS,and a pair of
B.W.TEAL. At McLane Creek Preserve accessed from MacKenzie Rd. near Delphi
produced 1 HAMMOND'S FLYCATCHER, then a quick stop at East Bay, at the
south end of Budd Inlet produced 8 BRANDT'S CORMORANTS, 2 B.GOLDENEYES,
and several P.GUILLEMOTS.
