Hi Bill,

Thanks for the nice report. We saw the SCRBJAY license plate in the
parking log! Also thanks to Patrick Sullivan for his report on Nisqually
last Thursday. Because of that Janet and I visited Nisqually on Sunday
also.

As we walked the loop trail clockwise we first came upon the nice
collection of BLUE-WINGED TEALs. Quite a number of CASPIAN TERNS were
diving along the west side of the loop trail. We were thrilled to see
that the two AMERICAN WHITE PELICANs were still on the large pond in the
NW part of the refuge. All along the trail we were seeing COMMON
YELLOWTHROATs and YELLOW WARBLERs. A WILSON'S popped out for a nice view.
GOLD-CROWNED SPARROWs were abundant.

On the little dike trail along the east side of the loop, there was a
chorus of MARSH WRENs singing. Suddenly a pair of AMERICAN BITTERNs took
flight. Capping off our fine day was the wonderful view of the GREAT
HORNED OWL near the visitor's center.
